Garage Interlocking Tile Adhesive

Armor Tile Adhesive is not normally needed but is used for areas where there may be expected movement from constant sudden stopping and turning such as from heavy fork lift traffic, or cars in service facilities or where the tiles are free floating as in not locked in by a back wall or where the tiles must be cut where the 'teeth' cannot be joined, color striping joints, edging, and similar installations.

Glue is also needed for any tiles that are exposed to prolonged sunlight. These tiles can heat up and expand at a faster rate than the rest of the floor that is in shade. Since our tiles are solid and are very heavy these few tiles cannot move the rest of the floor and may causing warp or buckle. No big deal! Apply some adhesive under those tiles will solve the problem quickly and permanently. If you use your space normally you will not have to worry about this. This is for floors that will have the door open all day with direct sun on part of the floor. If your traffic does not require gluing the tiles down but you leave the doors open with direct sun, then we suggest you apply adhesive to the tiles that will be sitting in the sun. For these areas to prevent Sun heated expansion you may use Locktite Construction Adhesive available at any Home Improvement store. This is a much more cost effective way to solve this issue. The same adhesive can be used for the entire floor if desired in cases of residential use or light commercial use.

For a waterproof installation or heavy traffic or free floating floors the use of our Extreme Tile Adhesive is required. Car Washes, Firehouses, Breweries or any other floor that sees constant washings or exposure to water requires this adhesive. This prevents water and moisture from getting under the tiles.

Covers approximately 60-70 sq ft/gal. 2 part, super strong, impervious to water so it creates a very good moisture barrier.

The image above is of the tile getting glued down, the pipe is weighing the tile down into a trench drain. Holes were drilled into the tile to facilitate draining.

Adhesive Application:
Care must be taken when using adhesive that tiles are installed perfectly square. Use a chalk line or laser line to ensure tiles are being installed square. The best method is to start from front to back laying tiles from left to right. Install about 40% of the rows of the tiles unglued to ensure tiles line up perfectly square then starting from that point  apply glue with 1/16" notched trowel. Once you have completed the glued rows go back and remove unglued rows and reinstall with glue. This method ensures you get a perfect installation.
