High Zinc Anti Rust Primer
ArmorGarage High Zinc Epoxy Primer for carbon steel and galvanized steel surfaces is a fantastic coating for new or old rusty steel. Aggressively adheres to steel surfaces sandblasted or wire wheel cleaned down to a tight rust film. Excellent for going over previous inorganic primers that keep rusting out. This coating provides superior cathodic protection that actually keeps rust from coming back unlike many anti-rust primers and inhibitors.
Proprietary molecular composition actually penetrates surface rust during its polymerization curing process making the rust part of the coating's new molecular structure. Not to be confused with Rust Inhibitors or Rust Converters that need another coating over them, this is a primer coating in satin gray that can be coated over with any conventional paint or one of our high-performance topcoats if desired.
Fast Cure time is 4 hours @ 75 degrees with an application temperature down to 32 degrees. Operating temperature of 300 degrees makes it suitable for many industrial process applications.
High saltwater corrosion resistance passing ASTM 1500-hour salt spray test. Chemical & Acid resistant. The image of the balcony doors being repainted is of a building on the ocean and these doors would corrode every year till the point where the building had to do a very costly replacement.
