Epoxy Paint For Outdoor Steel

Single-component industrial epoxy that stops rust, handles 400°F operating temperatures, applies in weather as cold as 20°F, and eliminates the need for sandblasting. One product, endless applications.

β˜… 400°F Heat Rated • Apply Down to 20°F • One Coat

Why This Coating Outperforms Everything Else on Outdoor Steel

Choosing the right epoxy for outdoor steel is tricky. High operating temperatures, constant exposure to weather, and surfaces prone to rusting create a triple threat that destroys commercial-grade paints. This single-component epoxy solves all three problems — it withstands 400°F surface temperatures, bonds directly to rust, and resists saltwater, chemicals, and abrasion far beyond anything in a spray can.

β—†
400°F Heat Rated
Withstands high-temperature exhaust stacks, flues, generators, and process equipment
❄
Apply Down to 20°F
Cold-weather application — no waiting for warm weather to protect your steel
β˜…
Bonds Directly to Rust
No sandblasting required — just wire brush loose/flaky rust and apply
βš–
Chemical & Salt Resistant
Superior saltwater and chemical resistance for coastal and industrial environments
β–
One Coat Coverage
Single coat at 250–300 SF/gal. Second coat optional for heavily corroded surfaces
⏱
Fast Cure: 1–2 Hours
Get back to service quickly — cures in about 1–2 hours depending on conditions

This is an industrial-grade product — not a spray can. Cannot be compared to aerosol products sold at hardware stores. This coating is engineered for long-term durability on outdoor steel infrastructure that takes real-world abuse every day.

One Product, Three Ways to Use It

Most coatings do one thing. This epoxy does three — making it the most versatile outdoor steel product in your maintenance arsenal:

β–£
Stand-Alone Finish Coat
Apply directly to prepared steel as a complete one-coat protective finish. Satin Aluminum appearance with excellent durability and corrosion resistance.
β–¦
Primer for Specialty Topcoats
Use as a high-performance primer base under specialized topcoats for extreme environments requiring additional UV protection or custom color matching.
⚠
High-Temperature Applications
Rated to 400°F continuous surface operating temperature. Perfect for generator exhausts, flue stacks, process piping, and heated equipment.

Ideal Applications

This coating is so versatile it's a must-have for any facility with outdoor steel infrastructure:

Generator Exhausts Flue Stacks Process Piping Structural Steel Galvanized Steel Railings & Handrails Tanks & Vessels Equipment Enclosures Ductwork Steel Building Exteriors Bollards & Posts Loading Dock Equipment

Works on multiple metal types: Old rusted steel, galvanized steel, and other ferrous metals. Whether it's decades-old corroded infrastructure or newly installed galvanized surfaces, this coating bonds and protects.

ArmorGarage vs. Off-the-Shelf Steel Paints

Commercial-Grade Paints
  • 2–3 mil thickness — paper thin
  • Requires sandblasting or grinding to bare metal
  • Max temp 200–250°F at best
  • Cannot apply below 50°F
  • Peels off rust within months
  • Spray can products — not industrial grade
  • Multiple coats required
  • Poor saltwater resistance
ArmorGarage Outdoor Steel Epoxy
  • Industrial-grade epoxy thickness
  • Wire brush loose rust — no sandblasting needed
  • Rated to 400°F continuous operating temp
  • Apply in weather as cold as 20°F
  • Bonds directly to tight rust & encapsulates
  • True industrial product — roll, brush, or spray
  • One coat coverage in most conditions
  • Superior saltwater & chemical resistance

Application Instructions

No specialized skills or expensive equipment required. Any in-house maintenance staff or painting contractor can apply this product:

  1. Wire brush or sand the surface to remove any loose, flaky rust and other contaminants. Tight rust can stay — the epoxy bonds directly to it
  2. Mix the contents in the can thoroughly. This is a single-component product — no Part A/Part B measuring required
  3. Apply by roller, brush, or spray at a coverage rate of 250–300 SF per gallon
  4. Allow 1–2 hours to cure depending on temperature and humidity. A second coat may be applied over heavily corroded surfaces if desired

That's it. No sandblasting, no grinding, no multi-step primer systems. Wire brush, mix, and roll on. This single step eliminates the costly and time-consuming prep that makes most steel maintenance projects a nightmare.

Application temperature range: Can be applied in temperatures as low as 20°F and as high as 120°F. This means you can coat outdoor steel year-round in virtually any climate — no waiting for warm weather windows.
