Outdoor Industrial Metal Epoxy Coating

Two-layer, surface-tolerant coating system engineered for outdoor metal equipment and infrastructure exposed to harsh weather, abrasion, chemicals, and severe operating conditions.

Chemically Hardened Finish • Service Temp to 220°F • 9 Standard Colors
Easy To Apply By In-House Staff Minimal Prep Required Fast Drying Brush, Roll, or Spray
β˜…
Surface Tolerant
Adheres to metal with tight rust, aged coatings, and rough surfaces. Just remove loose material and apply.
β–
True 2-Layer System
Base coat + protective topcoat delivers a rock-hard, high-gloss, tile-like finish that single-coat paints can't match.
βš–
Chemical & Caustic Resistant
Engineered for industrial chemical exposure, saltwater, acids, and caustic washdown environments.
⚑
Fast Cure
Base coat dries in 1–2 hours. Return equipment to service faster with less downtime than conventional coatings.
βš™
Impact & Abrasion Resistant
Built for constant mechanical abuse, dropped equipment, vibration, and heavy wear year after year.
β——
Extreme Weather Durability
Resists UV, salt air, hail, freeze/thaw cycles, and industrial pollutants without chalking or degrading.
βœ”
Self-Priming
No separate primer needed. Apply directly over prepared metal surfaces — saves time, labor, and material costs.
❄
Wide Temp Range
Apply from 50–120°F. Operating service temperature up to 220°F for hot piping and equipment.

Designed to End the Repaint Cycle

Standard metal paints and rust coatings look fine for a few months, then chalk, chip, and fail — sending you right back to prep and repaint. This two-layer system is built differently. The self-priming base coat penetrates and locks onto the metal surface, while the protective topcoat delivers a rock-hard, high-gloss finish that resists abrasion, impacts, chemicals, and severe weather for years.

The result: fewer recoats, less downtime, and lower total cost of ownership compared to conventional single-coat metal paints.

Minimum Prep Required: No blasting to white metal required — just remove what’s loose, apply base coat, let dry, then topcoat.

Why It’s Better

ArmorGarage 2-Layer System

  • True 2-layer system for max durability
  • Built for caustic/industrial chemical exposure
  • Fast return to service
  • Resists UV, salt, and foul weather conditions
  • Fewer recoats = lower total cost

Typical 1-Part Metal Paint

  • Single coat, frequent repainting needed
  • Limited chemical resistance
  • Chips, scuffs, and wears through
  • Long cure times
  • Higher long-term cost (more cycles)
  • Requires extensive surface prep
  • Vulnerable to harsh weather

Common “Rust” Coatings

  • Single coat, shorter lifecycle
  • Limited to moderate chemical resistance
  • Often chips under heavy abuse
  • Degrades faster with UV/salt/chemicals exposure
  • Higher long-term cost (repairs + recoats)
  • Requires extensive Prep
  • Much longer cure times

How To Apply

1

Surface Prep

Remove all loose flaking rust, paint, and debris. Clean oils, grease, and contaminants. Allow surface to dry. Mask off areas not being coated.

2

Base Coat

Apply base coat by roller, brush, or spray for full, even coverage. Allow to dry — typically 1–2 hours depending on conditions. Then topcoat!

3

Protective Topcoat

Apply the topcoat for a tile-hard, gloss protective finish. Allow proper cure time before returning to service.

4

Tips

Apply between 50–120°F. Minimize dust during cure. For bulk projects, request a quote for optimized packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work on rusted or poorly coated metal?

Yes — this system is surface-tolerant. Remove loose, flaky rust and paint, then apply the base coat followed by the topcoat. No blasting to white metal required.

How much area does one set cover?

Approximately 275 sf per gallon. Sold in 2-gallon sets (1 gal base coat + 1 gal topcoat). Actual coverage depends on surface profile, condition, and application method.

What temperatures can I apply and operate in?

Apply between 50–120°F. Maximum operating service temperature is up to 220°F, making it suitable for hot piping, exhaust systems, and heat-generating equipment.

Can I brush, roll, or spray it?

Yes — all three application methods are supported. Choose based on the size and accessibility of your project.

Do you offer custom colors?

Yes. Available in 9 standard colors. Custom colors are available on orders of 50+ gallons.

Do you offer volume discounts for large projects?

Yes. For projects over 5,000 sq ft, Request A Quote for discounted pricing and optimized packaging.

Remove any loose rust, paint and other contamanents. Surface must be dry with no rain forcasted for 12 hrs. Brush or roll on at 250 sf/gal rate. Spray with commercial grade sprayer, thinning maybe required with Xylene at 4 ounces per gallon mixed epoxy. Mix base coat Part A & Part B per ratio listed on label, be sure to accurately measure each part for proper curing. Mix with jiffy type mixer in a drill at medium speed for 2 minutes. Let sit for about 15 minutes and mix again for another minute to ensure uniform color dispersion. Apply in temperature range of 50-120 degrees. Cures in about 5- 8 hours depending on temperature and humidity. Can be applied  thicker on sharp edges or corners to protect against injuries.

Once base coat has cured mix Topcoat Part A & B per label listed ratio. Apply at 250-300 Sq ft/gal. Allow to dry overnight. Coating should be rock hard and leave no fingerprints when cured.
