Before & After β Complete Transformation
See the difference one application makes. Renew It fills imperfections, waterproofs the surface, and creates a slip-resistant, professional finish that lasts for years β not months.
No extensive prep work required β bonds directly to weathered wood, previous stains, and deck paints. The textured finish provides safe footing even when wet, no sand or additives required.
Easy Application β Professional Results
Easily applied with our textured rollers. Can be brushed after rolling for a less textured finish if desired. Most decks require only one to two coats for complete coverage.
Breathable Formula: Allows moisture to escape from underneath, preventing bubbling and peeling common with non-breathable coatings. Flexes with temperature changes β won't chip, crack, or peel.
Dock & Marine Applications
Perfect for docks, boat ramps, and waterfront surfaces. Withstands constant water exposure, UV radiation, and heavy marine use. The built-in texture provides secure footing on wet surfaces β critical for safety around water.
- Salt water compatible β resists corrosion and marine growth
- Won't peel, crack, or delaminate like traditional marine paints
- Thick 1/8" application fills cracks and creates a smooth, uniform surface
Waterfront Durability β Built to Last
Professional contractors and marinas choose Renew It for reliability and longevity. The coating maintains its appearance and protective qualities year after year, reducing maintenance costs and extending surface life significantly.
Everything You Need to Know
Wood Surfaces:
1. Clean surface thoroughly β remove dirt, mildew, and loose material such as previous paints and stains. Powerwash for best results.
2. Allow wood to dry completely
3. Apply Renew It Wood Primer (required with purchase)
4. Allow primer to dry before applying coating, no sanding is needed when using the Renew It primer.
Concrete Surfaces:
1. Clean and etch concrete with muriatic acid or a concrete etching product
2. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely (24-48 hrs)
3. No primer required on concrete
Trex / Composite Decking:
1. Allow new Trex to age 6-9 months before coating
2. Clean surface thoroughly
3. Prime with Flash Bond Primer (instead of Renew It primer)
4. Allow to dry before coating (4-6 hrs). Test to make sure primer has bonded with Trex before applying Renew It coating.
Application:
1. Use our special textured rollers (1 roller per 200 sq ft)
2. Apply coating in one direction applying medium downward pressure, maintaining wet edge. Do not roll backwards, lift roller up and reload.
3. For warped boards: roll perpendicular first, then parallel or use a brush
4. For deep cracks and divots apply coating with a brush in those areas to fill in prior to second coat. Apply two full coats for maximum durability and warranty coverage. Allow first coat to dry hard to the touch 3-4 hours.
5. Allow proper drying time between coats
6. Allow overnight drying for foot traffic, 48 hours for furniture and heavy traffic.
Conditions:
Temperature: Apply when temps will remain between 50Β°F and 100Β°F for 48 hours. Weather: Do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hours.
What's the difference between this and Super Duty Deck Paint?
Paints leave a thin surface film. Renew It starts as a solid, becomes liquid during application, then returns to a permanent 1/8" thick solid coating that bonds to the surface β far more durable than any paint.
Is this suitable for northern climates?
Yes! Temperature rated -40Β°F to 200Β°F. Extremely flexible β temperature swings have no effect. Tough enough to handle snow shoveling (use plastic or fiberglass-tipped shovels).
Can I apply this to pressure-treated wood?
Yes! Allow wood to age 6-9 months for complete outgassing. Renew It will restore aged, worn treated wood boards.
Can I apply it to Trex / composite decking?
Yes! Age Trex 6-9 months, then prime with Flash Bond Primer. Great for restoring worn Trex and adding non-slip texture.
Can you provide custom colors?
Yes! Order the tint base version, then add up to 10 oz of universal water-based tint to create any custom color.
My deck boards are warped. Can I coat them?
Yes! Roll perpendicular to boards first, then parallel. Use our 4" roller set for easier coverage on warped/cupped boards.
Can I do railings too?
Yes! Use our small area roller or brush for railings and posts. For a smoother finish on verticals, consider our Super Deck Paint in matching colors.
Is it slippery when wet?
No β the opposite! It has a grainy, non-slip finish that feels like very fine emery board. Very comfortable for walking, safe for pool areas, and great for pet paws.
How do I clean it?
Mild liquid soap and garden hose. Simple Green and TSP work best. Bleach solution to remove mold & mildew. Pressure washing is okay for heavy dirt.
Can I coat over brand new wood boards?
Yes, but you must let new wood age 12 months prior to coating. If the wood has a Mil finish, it's best to give the boards a quick light sanding prior to primer application.
Average lifespan: 7β10 years when properly applied (two full coats at proper thickness with our Renew It rollers). After that period, apply one thin refresher coat at 150 sq ft/gal.
Limited 5-year warranty against product defects when applied to a properly prepared surface in two full coats. Covers peeling, chipping, or cracking resulting from product defects.
Important: Our coating will NOT require stripping and recoating like standard deck paints or stains. Cannot restore rotted, crumbling, or broken boards β replace damaged boards before coating. Color will eventually wear and fade with sun exposure β apply refresher coat when desired.
