Versatile Problem Solver
- Leaky Roof Decks: Seals wood, concrete, or tiled surfaces
- Pool & Pool Decks: Waterproofs and provides slip-resistant finish
- Planters: Stops leaks in planter boxes and containers
- Below-Grade Walls: Seals basement walls with up to 10 PSI leak-stopping power
- Fish Ponds: Nontoxic formula safe for aquatic life
Waterproof just about any application with a decorative finish—available in 14 different colors. Eliminates the need for paint!
Exceptional Performance Characteristics
Amazing molecular cross-linking allows our coating to stretch by a factor of 1300%! 5X thicker than standard waterproof paints available at home improvement stores and 10X as durable.
- Breathable Technology: Lets vapor through but not moisture—prevents mold, mildew, and delamination
- Crack Sealing: Seals cracks in vertical or horizontal applications unlike standard paints
- Universal Adhesion: Adheres to virtually any surface type that needs waterproofing
- Low VOC: Almost no odor, safe for indoor use
- Fast Drying: Dries in one hour per coat @ 72°F
- Full Cure: 2-7 days depending on conditions
- UV Stable: Color-fast finish resists fading
Application Methods
Applied with brush, roller, or spray. Any airless sprayer with tip size 17-21 and PSI of 2500min-3300max can be used for spray application.
Minimum two coats required. Additional coats can be applied for added protection. Nonskid aggregate can be broadcast into wet base coat, then covered with second coat to reduce slippage.
Perfect Standalone Solution
Ideal for outdoor tiled, wood, or concrete substrates on roof decks above occupied areas. Functions as both waterproof membrane and finished surface with aesthetic color. For additional protection, apply Armor Shield Topcoat.

Waterproof Base Layer Application
Can also be used as a waterproof layer on roof decks or balconies that will have tiles, pavers, or wood flooring applied over it. Solves the persistent problem for homeowners and businesses requiring a finished floor over waterproof protection.
Super Durable with High Abrasion Rating: Handles deck chairs and tables, high foot traffic as a finished coating—or provides robust protection under pavers, tiles, and wood flooring.

Colors shown are approximate β actual coating colors may vary slightly from screen display.
Minimum of two coats are required and you will get more coverage with the second coat. So on average you will get about 200 sf/gal over concrete and wood and 300 sf over nonporous surfaces such as tiles.
This product is designed to be applied in multiple thin coats, too thick a coat will cause product not to cure which is not covered under the warranty. Better to apply 3 or 4 coats than 2 coats that are too thick.
waterproof Lquid Membrane Application Instructions
Complete step-by-step guide for applying Liquid Membrane on concrete, wood, masonry, decks, roofs, and below-grade surfaces.
All surfaces must be clean and dry before application. Proper preparation is the most important factor in coating performance and longevity.
| Surface Type | Preparation Method |
|---|---|
| Wood | Clean with deck cleaner. Sand new wood to remove mill finish. Remove all loose or flaking coatings. |
| Concrete / Masonry | Use a concrete etching product to open pores and ensure proper adhesion. |
| Previously Coated | Can be applied over latex or epoxy coatings. Epoxy coatings must be sanded to roughen the surface. |
Do not apply over petroleum-based coatings. All petroleum-based coatings must be completely removed before application.
Application temperature: 35β90Β°F. Do not apply outside this range.
| Crack Size | Repair Method |
|---|---|
| Up to 1/8" | No repair needed β coat directly over. |
| 1/8" β 1/4" deep | Fill with foam backer rod or compacted sand, then coat over. |
| 1/4" β 5/16" wide | Fill with Sikaflex 1A caulk (available at home improvement stores) to just below the surface. Allow to cure per manufacturer instructions. |
| Larger cracks (concrete) | Use a quality concrete floor patch material. |
| Larger cracks (wood) | Use paintable wood putty or Bondo. |
After filling cracks: Apply a coat of Liquid Membrane over the repair and let dry 45β60 minutes. Apply a second coat. Add additional coats as needed until the repair is flush with the surrounding floor.
Once the floor is fully prepped, apply Liquid Membrane with a 1/2" nap roller at the appropriate coverage rate:
| Surface Condition | Coverage Rate |
|---|---|
| Porous surfaces (bare concrete, raw wood) | 125β150 sf/gal |
| Most typical surfaces | 200β250 sf/gal |
Do not apply too thick. Thicker applications can prevent the product from curing properly. This product is designed to be applied in thin coats. It is always better to apply multiple thin coats than one thick coat.
Coat requirements by application type:
| Application | Coats Required | Full Cure Time |
|---|---|---|
| Above grade (decks, balconies, patios) | 2 coats minimum (3rd & 4th optional for thicker coverage) | 2β5 days |
| Below grade & submerged (foundations, pools, planters) | 3 coats minimum | 7 days before backfilling or filling with water |
Between coats: Allow each coat to dry approximately 1 hour. The coating should be dry to the touch and not leave any fingerprints when pressed.
After final coat: Inspect for any pinholes, bubbles, or other defects. Repair by applying additional Liquid Membrane to affected areas.
Allow the final membrane coat to fully cure before applying topcoat.
- Coverage rate: 250 sf/gal in one coat
- Purchase ratio: 1 gallon of topcoat for every 2 gallons of membrane
Joints between a deck and a wall or structure require special treatment to ensure a proper waterproof seal. A simple 90-degree joint does not allow enough material to be applied for reliable protection.
How to install a cant strip:
1. Apply a generous amount of construction adhesive at the joint where the deck meets the structure.
2. Embed the cant strip (available at home improvement stores) into the adhesive.
3. Allow to cure overnight.
4. When coating the deck, apply the membrane over the cant strip and continue 4β6" up the wall of the structure.
Always use a cant strip when coating a deck, roof, or balcony. The angled joint provides far better material coverage and waterproofing than a standard 90-degree corner.
Surface Bond can also be applied using an airless sprayer for larger areas:
| Specification | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Sprayer pressure | 2,500β3,300 psi |
| Flow rate | 0.95β1.6 GPM capacity |
| Tip size | 0.521 or 0.631 reversible tip |
| Max hose length | 100 ft at 3/8" diameter |
Clean tools and spills with soap and water. Clean up before the product dries for easiest removal.
