Why This Is Our Most Premium Garage Floor Tile

The Super Heavy Duty Hidden Seam tile is the top of the ArmorGarage tile line — 5/16" of solid PVC, 5 lbs per tile, with a hidden seam locking system that creates the tightest, cleanest-looking floor of any interlocking garage tile on the market. Where our standard T-joint tiles have continuous visible locking edges, the hidden seam design conceals the connection points — giving your floor the appearance of large-format solid tile rather than an obvious snap-together surface.

■ Hidden Seam Locking
Concealed connection system creates a cleaner, more finished look than exposed-seam tiles. Looks like premium tile flooring, not snap-together garage tiles.
◆ Tightest Seams Available
Tightest seams of any ArmorGarage tile — prevents dirt, grime, road salts, and fluids from accumulating underneath. Mold and mildew proof.
★ 5/16" Solid PVC
Our thickest tile. 5 lbs of solid virgin PVC per tile — not hollow, not recycled filler, not thin wear surface over air. Solid all the way through.
⚡ No Tire Ruts or Indents
Solid construction won't form indented wear paths under heavy static loads like vehicle tires, lifts, tool chests, or hydraulic jacks.
◗ No Click-Clack Noise
Sound-deadening solid PVC is silent underfoot and under vehicle traffic. Hollow-core tiles rattle — these don't.
✔ Forklift Rated
Handles constant forklift traffic, heavy equipment, and industrial loads. Used in production facilities and power plants.

Slight textured finish — less pronounced than our standard flat orange-peel tiles and lighter than our slate finish tiles. Provides grip without being aggressive — ideal for show garages and shops where rolling tool chests and equipment carts need to move freely.

Hidden Seam vs. Hollow-Core Competitors

ArmorGarage Hidden Seam Tile
  • 5/16" solid PVC — 5 lbs per tile
  • Hidden seam — premium finished appearance
  • Tightest seams — no dirt or fluid infiltration
  • No ruts, no indents under heavy static loads
  • Silent — zero click-clack noise
  • Mold & mildew proof
  • Lifetime transferable warranty
  • Made in USA — solid virgin PVC
Hollow-Core Peg & Loop Competitors
  • Hollow underneath — under 1 lb per tile
  • Exposed seams — obvious snap-together look
  • Loose seams — dirt and fluids pass through
  • Form ruts and indents under vehicle weight
  • Hollow click-clack noise when walked on
  • Can trap moisture and grow mold underneath
  • Limited warranties with exclusions
  • Recycled or inferior filler materials

Don't be fooled by thickness claims. Hollow-core competitors are thick because they have to be to compensate for being hollow. You're getting a 1/16" wear surface over air. ArmorGarage hidden seam tiles are 5/16" of solid PVC all the way through. Take a hammer to both and see for yourself.

Ordering & Shipping Information

How to Order

  • Order by the square foot — enter total SF in the quantity box, not the number of tiles
  • Add 5% for cutting waste and spare tiles
  • Two-color floors: add first color to cart, then add second color separately

Shipping Details

  • Orders $1,500+ ship free — pallet via truck with liftgate service
  • Orders under $1,500 — $200 shipping charge applies due to weight
  • Multi-color floors — made to order, allow 8–9 weeks. Cannot be cancelled once ordered.

Important: Due to the weight of 5/16" solid PVC tiles, shipping small quantities is expensive — this is why smaller orders carry a flat shipping charge. Multi-color floors are made to order and cannot be cancelled once production begins.

Care & Maintenance

We strongly recommend coating all tiles with Hillway Direct Plus Cleaner and Maintainer or our ArmorGarage Tile Coating. This prevents tire staining and makes routine maintenance significantly easier — a microfiber mop wipe-down keeps the floor looking new. The hidden seam design already minimizes dirt infiltration, but the protective coating seals the surface completely.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the hidden seam design different from standard T-joint tiles?

The locking system is concealed beneath the tile surface rather than running visibly around the perimeter. This creates a cleaner, more premium appearance — your floor looks like large-format solid tile rather than an obvious snap-together system. The hidden seam also produces tighter connections that resist dirt and fluid infiltration better than exposed-seam designs.

How thick is 5/16" compared to other garage floor tiles?

5/16" is the thickest tile in the ArmorGarage lineup and thicker than virtually all competitors. Hollow-core peg & loop tiles are often 3/8"–1/2" thick but that includes the hollow air space — their actual solid wear surface is typically only 1/16". Our 5/16" is solid PVC all the way through, giving you roughly 5x more real material than a hollow competitor tile of similar stated thickness.

Can these tiles handle vehicle traffic and lifts?

Yes — forklift rated, heavy equipment rated. The solid PVC construction handles static loads from vehicles, hydraulic lifts, tool chests, and industrial machinery without forming ruts or indents. These tiles are used in production facilities and commercial shops under constant heavy use.

Will the tiles shift or separate under turning vehicles?

No. The hidden seam locking system is specifically engineered to resist the torque and shear forces from turning vehicle wheels — the same forces that cause hollow-core peg & loop tiles to split at their connections. Solid PVC construction also means the tile body itself won't crack or deform under load.

Do I need to prepare my concrete floor before installing?

No — just sweep out debris and install. These tiles go directly over any concrete regardless of condition. They bridge over cracks and divots, and can go directly over existing old coatings without stripping. No adhesive, no etching, no grinding required.

Will tires stain these tiles?

Modern tires contain an antioxidant called 6PPD that can leach and stain any floor surface over time — this applies to all garage tile brands. We strongly recommend Hillway Direct Plus Cleaner and Maintainer, which has proven highly effective at preventing tire staining. Apply before first use for best results.

How are these tiles priced and what sizes are available?

Tiles are sold and priced per square foot — enter your total square footage in the quantity box. Each tile is 20"×20" (approx. 2.78 SF per tile). Starting at $6.99 per SF. Add 5% for cutting waste. Gray and standard colors ship quickly; custom and multi-color floors require 8–9 weeks production time.

How do these compare to ArmorGarage's standard T-joint tiles?

Both are 100% solid PVC with lifetime warranties and similar load ratings. The key differences: the hidden seam tile is 5/16" thick vs. 1/4" for the standard tile, weighs 5 lbs vs. 4 lbs, and uses a concealed locking system for a cleaner appearance. The standard T-joint tile has a more pronounced continuous locking edge that's slightly more visible. If appearance and maximum thickness matter most, choose the hidden seam. If you prefer the most proven tile with the longest track record, either tile is an excellent choice.

Upgrade Your Garage Floor Once — Never Think About It Again

Questions about sizing, colors, or which tile is right for your project?

Simply start from front to back installing full tiles. Leave the side wall and back wall cuts for last. If you end up with a small 1-3" piece on each side wall we suggest you shift the floor to one side to give yourself a bigger piece to work with.

We recommend that you cut the tabs of the front row tiles where you will slide the ramp edge onto and then put a bead of good construction adhesive under the ramp and part of the first row tiles to lock everything in place. You can also put some good epoxy glue such as JB Weld inside the U-Slot of the ramp edge to glue the tile to the inside of the edging for added strength.

Floor prep is simple, just sweep the floor clean. Adhesive is normally not needed. If gluing the floor down for certain commercial installations we suggest you power wash the floor to remove all dirt and loose debris. We would also suggest you mix a cup of TSP with 5 gallons of water and scrub that over the floor to degrease it. Oil or grease in the floor could effect the bonding of the adhesive.

Tiles can be cut with any power saw, circular cuts can be made with a utility knife. If cutting around door jambs a mini circular saw works great or you can use a utility knife for these cuts. But if you have a lot of these cuts to make it's best to have a mini circular saw.

If gluing the tiles down you should install aprox half the tiles then begin gluing the tiles down. Once the half is completed with the glue then you can remove the other half and reinstall them with glue. The reason for this extra step is make sure that you are installing the tiles perfectly square. If you are off a little bit you will get to a point where the interlocking tabs won't fit together. Not a big deal when not gluing them down but an obvious bigger problem if the tiles are glued down. Installing about half the floor loose will ensure you're tiles are square.

Once you've installed your new tiles be sure to protect them with the sealer we recommend. Tires today are made with new additives and plasticizers that can cause the rubber to leach out of your tires and stain the tiles. This holds true for any tile.

Quality: 100% solid virgin PVC, not made from recycled inexpensive PVC substitute materials(polypropylene or ABS Plastic)!

Durability: Lifetime Guarantee!! Super heavy duty and virtually indestructible! Forklift and heavy equipment rated. Use in garages, work shops, hangars, production floors and more!

Strength: Our interlocking tiles are not perforated or hollow cored and not a flex type tile. So they will not form tire or wheel wear paths, and will not form indents under heavy point loads as will tiles listed above can and is why they offer limited warranties! Highest static load capacity! Will not split apart under heavy turning loads. If you put any torque on a brittle hollow core tile or a soft flex tile they will start to fail at the seams. Our tiles are specifically designed and engineered not to do that.

Worry Free! Armor Garage Hidden Seam Tiles are Mold & Mildew Proof and the tightest seams to prevent dirt, grim and water from accumulating underneath the tiles unlike hollow core and flex tiles that have loose fitting seams. Our hidden seam connection while not a pool or pond liner is virtually waterproof.

Price: The price of any garage floor tile is determined by the type (quality) and amount of material used. There is no magic formula! Each tile is made with 4.3-5.5lbs of solid virgin PVC! Find out what other tiles weigh and what they are made out of and compare the difference!

Ease of installation: No adhesives, floor prepping, special skills or tools required. Tiles easily knock together with a rubber mallet and cut quickly with any power saw! Utility knife is not recommended unless you're Paul Bunyan! Our tiles have a higher hardness rating than other brands while still be flexible which is what makes our tiles so unique. Tiles that can be cut with a utility knife are too soft!

Sound & Feel: You can feel and hear the solidness of an Armor Tile floor. When you walk on it there is no Click Clacking noise as you get with Polypropylene tiles. Armor Tiles are sound deadening, you get that same comforting sound and feel as when you close the door of quality luxury car.

Structural Integrity: With interlocking T-Joints running the full perimeter of each tile you won't get spread or separation. Peg & Loop tiles only have 5 or 6 inferior Peg and Loop connectors that are prone to breaking during installation and while driving on cause they are brittle.

Free Shipping: Orders for 300 square or more ship free with tailgate service so you don't have to unload your tiles by hand.

A note on tire marks; we get asked a lot if tires will leave marks on our tile. Staining is caused by a component used by manufacturers of car tires called ‘6PPD’ [phenaline diamine].

6PPD is an anti-oxidant and is added to rubber products to resist environmental attack by ozone and ultraviolet light. It also has other beneficial effects in the molding of rubber itself. Since it adds to the cost of making tires, manufacturers usually only add it to the softer high performance tires. So there are some off road tires and high performance tires with soft compounds that leach rubber onto the tiles. Recently we have seen these stain causing additives in regular street tires also so we strongly recommend Hillway Direct Plus Cleaner and Maintainer for all tiles. We recommend  ordering the micro fiber application mop that makes applying the sealer evenly a fast and easy process. This is a great product that will give you years of maintenance free service. We have never had a complaint about this product.
