How It Works

A cove base is a radiused material that forms a seamless transition from the floor to wall, preventing contamination from forming in the 90° juncture. Another good thing to keep in mind is that although an epoxy coating on your floor is 100% waterproof, it doesn't mean your floor is 100% waterproof! That 90° angle at the floor/wall, more often than not, develops cracks along with bacteria, allowing water to penetrate down into the slab.

You can purchase cove base made of wood or composite materials or make your own. Wood & composite cove base, while quicker to install, are softer in nature and subject to damage in busy kitchen and food prep areas. An epoxy cove base formed with specialized aggregates is rock hard and can handle hig impacts with ease.

Contains all the material needed to form an indestructible cove base around the perimeter of your commercial kitchen and food processing floors. This allows you to run your epoxy coating across the floor and up the cove base material, forming a waterproof sanitary tub. A requirement many Health Departments want.

Easy to apply: Simply mix all components of each kit and apply with the cove tool at the desired height.

Pro Tip — Order an extra kit for priming: We recommend purchasing one additional kit to use the liquids only as a primer on the wall. This increases the adhesion of the cove mortar immensely. Just mix the liquids (don’t mix in the aggregate), apply to the wall, and let sit for about 10 minutes. This creates a sticky surface for the cove base material to stick to. One kit used as primer should cover approximately 175 lineal feet.
