What Is Epoxy Flooring?

Epoxy flooring is a multi-layered, professional-grade coating system that transforms prepared concrete into a durable, seamless, high-gloss surface. The best epoxy floor systems combine a penetrating primer, a 100% solids color coat, and an anti-wear rated topcoat — which is what separates a 15-year floor from a 1-2-year paint job.

How It Works:

• Two-part system: Resin and pigments in Part A are mixed with the Part B hardener.
• Chemical curing: The components chemically cross-link as they cure, creating a super hard, tile like finish.
• Concrete adhesion: The coating penetrates into and becomes part of properly prepared concrete. All our epoxy coatings remove the top layer of concrete when quality control pull tests are performed.
• Seamless finish: Creates a high-gloss, non-porous surface that resists stains, hot tires, chemicals and heavy traffic.

Compared With Floor Paint:

• Floor paint air-dries and forms a thin surface film with limited adhesion.
• Thin epoxy coatings and floor paints are more prone to peeling and chipping. A properly installed high quality epoxy floor resists hot-tire pickup, impacts and abrasion.
• Many thin epoxies and water-based coatings contain up to 50% water or solvents that evaporates while drying, leaving a thinner protective film. If you see “WB” in a product name it usually means it's a water-based coating.

Result: A properly selected and installed epoxy floor system can provide 10–15+ years of service, compared with approximately 1–2 years for thin floor paint and low-quality epoxy coatings.
